Bob Golic played for the New England Patriots from 1979-1981, Cleveland Browns from 1982-1988 and Los Angele Raiders from 1989-1992 over the course of his 14 year career.

Bob played high school football at St. Joseph's High School in Cleveland, while here he won the Ohio state championship in wrestling. At Notre Dame, Golic was voted first team All-American for the 1977 and 1978 football seasons. For the 1978 season, Golic was selected by a unanimous vote at linebacker. Golic was also a 2 time All-American for Notre Dame as a heavyweight wrestler, capturing 4th place in 1977 and 3rd place in 1978, placing ahead of future Olympic gold Medalist Jeff Blatnick. Golic was also a member of the 1977 NCAA National Champion football team.

He was drafted by the Patriots out of Notre Dame in the second round (52nd pick overall) of the 1979 NFL Draft. Bob was a 3-time Pro Bowler: 1985, 1986, 1987, and All Pro in 1885 & 1986, and is known for his impressive football feats. Bob Golic ranks among one of Cleveland's most popular sports figures.

After retiring from football Golic pursued an acting career, most notably as Cal U Resident Advisor Mike Rogers on Saved by the Bell: The College Years and the NBC made-for-tv-movie Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas in 1993. Golic also hosted sports talk radio programs and did sports reporting for TV stations in Los Angeles; had a stint on Britain's late 80s-90s NFL opposite presenter Gary Imlach; served as as analyst on NBC's NFL coverage from 1994-96; and was a commentator for TNN's coverage of the short-lived XFL in 2001. Bob was nicknamed "Unfunny Bob" on the popular television program Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic.
